Q. I am a candidate seeking my next move. I currently hold a senior position within a blue chip business and feel apprehensive at the thought of my current employers finding out I’m looking. If you represented me, what measures would you put in place to ensure this won’t happen?

This is one of the most difficult times for you. There are certain things you must do and there are certain things you can do.

Must Do

• Ensure confidentiality: whoever you speak to about a move make sure they are people you can trust totally.
• Keep lists of all companies who have your details and any vacancies you apply for, so you have a full and precise record.
• Keep it tight: do not send your CV to every head-hunter or agency around; otherwise your confidentiality will almost certainly be compromised.

Can Do
